History
In 1897, the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft Hotel management company was established in Berlin, marking the historical beginning of Kempinski Hotels as we know it today. At the turn of the century, the first grand hotels were built in Germany’s largest cities and several of these belonged to the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft when it was founded. At about the same time, M. Kempinski & Co. was founded by Berthold Kempinski in Berlin and developed in parallel, finally being acquired by the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft in 1953. Berthold Kempinski was born on October 10, 1843, in Raschkow in Posen (formerly a province of Prussia, but now known as Poland). He was one of two sons. In 1862, his brother, Moritz, opened a specialist wine shop in Breslau, also in Posen, called M. Kempinski & Co, which Berthold joined two years later. They worked hard at their enterprise together and ten years later, in 1872, Berthold and his wife, Helene, moved to Berlin and opened a wine shop under the same name, which they soon expanded into a restaurant with rooms. Berthold was ambitious and, seeing his new venture was proving successful, wanted to expand even further. He searched for a suitable location and, in 1889, he opened a restaurant in the Leipziger Strasse with several dining rooms, the biggest restaurant in Berlin at this time. As Berthold and Helene Kempinski had no sons, their daughter Frieda’s husband, Richard Unger, entered the small company M. Kempinski & Co.. Richard proved to be astute and was largely responsible for the company’s continued success. Noticing his son-in-law was capable of managing the company without him, Berthold retired and the company became Richard’s, even though the name was retained. Berthold Kempinski died on March 14, 1910, and was therefore spared from the events to follow. Until the First World War Richard, who now owned the company, had managed to build an enormous real estate complex revolving around his gastronomical business. During the First World War, the business ran smoothly and after the war, Richard even managed to buy his own production-centres. Then, as the Kurfürstendamm street began to enjoy more popularity, Richard bought and managed a restaurant at Ku’damm 27 (the address where to this date, the Kempinski Hotel Bristol proudly stands). In 1928, M. Kempinski & Co. also took over the management of the ‘Haus Vaterland’ on Potsdamer Square and introduced a sensational new concept - entertainment gastronomy – the likes of which Berlin had not seen before. After success, however, came sadness. In 1938, Richard Unger and his family emigrated to the United States of America to escape the war. Unfortunately, the Restaurant at Kurfürstendamm 27 was destroyed in a fire shortly before the war ended and all his other properties were destroyed by bombings. However, the Kempinski name was destined to survive and, after the war ended, Dr. Friedrich W. Unger, Berthold’s grandson and Richard Unger’s son, returned to Germany. In 1951 he started to build a hotel directly on the site of the destroyed restaurant at Kurfürstendamm 27. One year later the Kempinski Hotel opened and became the most modern and popular Grand Hotel of its time. It was the first five star hotel in Berlin and became renowned for its innovations – for example, building an indoor swimming pool. In 1953 Dr. Friedrich W. Unger sold his share of the business to the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft, established in 1897, which already ran hotels called the Bristol and the Kaiserhof. The name Bristol was taken over and used by the hotel at Ku’damm 27, which is how the hotel which is known today as the Kempinski Hotel Bristol acquired its name. With the acquisition of the Kempinski Hotel Bristol, the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft gained ground in the post-war international hotel business. All rights to the name Kempinski were finally acquired by the Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft at the end of the 1960s so that, in 1970, the company could change its name to Kempinski Hotelbetriebs-Aktiengesellschaft. In 1977 the company was finally changed to Kempinski Aktiengesellschaft (AG). Over the years, the company took over other famous landmarks all over Germany. In 1957 the Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg, also know as the ‘white castle’ situated on the outer Alster Lake, and in 1970 50% of the stakes in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich, which established a long-standing partnership with Lufthansa, who was also a shareholder of the property. In 1979 the Hotel Gravenbruch near Frankfurt joined the group. In 1985 Lufthansa bought shares in Kempinski AG, enabling the traditional German Hotel group to operate hotels abroad. For this purpose, Kempinski Hotels S.A. was formed in Geneva, Switzerland, by Kempinski AG, Lufthansa AG and Rolaco S.A. In 1993, Kempinski AG acquired 100% of the shares in Kempinski Hotels S.A. The majority of shares in Kempinski AG is now indirectly owned by the Crown Property Bureau of Thailand. The stability afforded by the Crown Property Bureau’s commitment to Kempinski’s strategy of expansion has allowed the Company to diversify its portfolio by gaining international properties while concentrating its efforts on hotel management expertise. The Company retains one owned property – the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich and two leases – Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin and Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains St Moritz. Kempinski’s goal was and still is to make the Kempinski brand synonymous with individualistic luxury in hospitality. This includes supplying maintenance services as required by the hotel operations team, maintaining furniture, equipment, upkeep of building and grounds in optimum condition.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure preventive maintenance of hotel real estate and assets through proactive and efficient planning.

  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities throughout the property.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or HVAC engineering

  • Minimum ten (10) years of post-qualification experience, with 3 as the head of department, ideally in a large hotel or multi facilities complex.

  • Very good knowledge of building techniques: heating, ventilation, plumbing, electricity, automatic operation

  • Proven project planning and project management skills

  • Experienced in fire and life safety systems

  • Successful experience in a position of responsibility including management of staff



  • Computer literacy – Ms. Office and Engineering Administration system

  • Fluency in English, both oral and written

  • Responsible for deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrade and support of ICT infrastructures, including WAN, LAN, firewall, servers, PCs, operating systems and associated hardware and software.

Experience

What you will do:



  • Carry out service, maintenance, commissioning, overhaul, trouble-shooting, installation, warranty repair and any other specialist service on the complete range of JCI and other manufactures Process and Industrial refrigeration equipment/ HVAC.

  • Carry out comprehensive plant audit for Industrial and Process HVAC/ refrigeration systems and write detailed report explaining the plant condition, observations and recommendations

  • Travel throughout the South East Asia and other regions shore and off shore as required by the business in order to service the customer base

  • Carry our service work to the highest possible standard in line with JCI policy & procedures and industry recognised best practices.

  • Ensure service work is completed safely and efficiently at all times with minimum call back and warranty expense

  • Ensure service reports are completed fully and to a good standard on completion of each service order or in cases where the duration of the work is in excess of one week, service reports must be submitted on a weekly basis

  • During your day to day work in the field, actively identify and promote new/additional services, parts and products to our customers and feedback either verbally or via your service report of potential opportunities to the relevant person in the service office

  • Supervise subcontractors working on behalf of JCI

  • Ensure that experience is passed on to the rest of the FLSP team through mentoring and training.

  • Maintain service vehicle and any other tools and/or equipment assigned to you in good condition

  • Ensure the continued and sustainable growth of our maintenance base through customer relationship building with new and existing customers

  • Ensure the highest standard of safety are maintained at any job site at all time including but not limited to JCI staff.

Job Requirement

Chief Engineer is a Department Head level position in the Engineering division and reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Chief Engineer will collectively make key operational management decisions and execute the same for the Resort's repair and maintenance work.   Chief Engineer  is responsible to  ensure safety, security, conservation, and compliance to the highest levels, including but not limited to guest rooms, facilities, public and common areas, CEP, BOH, WWTP, power distribution, HVAC, refrigeration and others, as well as the repairs and maintenance of the hotel’s physical assets in order to keep the hotel in compliance with the local government requirements, the resort’s policies and procedures and the

Job Description

OVERVIEW 

Drive Custom Solutions Engineering activity to achieve KPIs. You will attend the technical and commercial meetings to support sales engineers (when necessary) and assist in all relevant activities related to the compilation of Tender Proposals that comply with established procedures and policies. You will collaborate with Regional Field Engineer and other related Custom Solutions teams to provide technical solution for problems faced by the Customer and formalize it into a technical and commercial proposal to be submitted to the customer. You will also be responsible to execute orders received at Custom Solutions for engineering aspects such as project schedule, datasheet, test procedure, test plan, test report, etc.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Support Service Manager to achieve Custom Solutions KPI and collaborate with other departments to meet the overall sales KPI that has been set based on the direction provided by superior and organization.
  • Attend pre-sales site visit or meeting and gather info for project inquiry/ tender and work out proposal, liaise with internal PIC to assist in collating accurate data for the preparation of proposals.
  • Determine proposal feasibility by checking customer’s RFQ and handle complex proposal generation supported by risk assessment, costing, the scope of supply definition, responsibility matrix, schedule, availability of resources, and others.
  • Prepare technical & commercial proposals within the dateline given. Accurately interpret the client’s technical specifications and produce a compliant technical proposal. Accurately interpret client’s commercial requirements and ensure any commercial or contractual risks to the company are identified and mitigated. Also, to provide responses to any subsequent requests for clarification, both technical and commercial.
  • Manage associated cost preparation responsibilities, obtain factored/sub-supplier costs where necessary. Ensure proposals pricing and estimating is in line with the company’s agreed strategies on sales and marketing, charge out rates, and availability of engineering resource.
  • Perform product assembly or on-site customer survey.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1) Plans and carries out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort and the owners asset is protected;

2) Prioritizes and carries out maintenance as requested by operational departments on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of all hotel departments;

3) Records meter readings and liaise with the General Manager to reach improvement targets in energy management and water conservation;

4) Be responsible and lead the continuous quality testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting and life safety equipment on a routine basis and maintain full records of test for periodical review;

10) Liaises closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding out of service rooms to expedite a quick turn around and return to inventory to reach availability targets;

What you will do:



  • Carry out service, maintenance, commissioning, overhaul, trouble-shooting, installation, warranty repair and any other specialist service on the complete range of JCI and other manufactures Process and Industrial refrigeration equipment/ HVAC.

Job Descriptions :
  • You will be primarily responsible to do End to End setup, establishing the procedures SOP and running DevOps operating model and engineering process, tools and capabilities of the ventures.
  • Work in Agile environment.
  • Work closely with Developers, QA team, Product and Project Managers.
  • Ensure applications meet requirements and specifications.
  • Log and track issues with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Monitoring, reporting results to the product leads.
Job Requirements :
  • Bilingual (Bahasa and English) so that we can work with you in English and so that you can help us test the app in Bahasa.
  • Have experience in setting up and configuring the following environments using these platform and technologies: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jsonnet, QBEC, Puppet, Apache, Nginx.
  • Worked on the following databases: Firestore, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Have knowledge or implemented: Elasticsearch, Pub/Sub, SQS/SNS, Rabbit MQ, or similar technologies.
